Vedic Meditation · Currumbin Valley and online

An effortless technique. A practice for life.

Four sessions and a check-in two weeks later, and then you're self-sufficient. No app, no subscription, no teacher to keep going back to. Vedic Meditation asks nothing of your concentration or willpower, which is why it tends to work for people who have failed at meditation before.

What you learn

Four things, and then it belongs to you.

Taught in four sessions on consecutive days, each building on the one before, followed by a twenty-minute check-in two weeks later once there are thirty or so sits behind you and real questions to ask.

Session one

Your personal mantra

Chosen for you and given in person. A sound used as a vehicle for attention, not a word to think about.

Sessions two to four

The technique

Twenty minutes, twice a day, eyes closed. No concentration, no visualising, no emptying the mind. Thoughts are part of it working.

Throughout

The understanding

Why rest this deep does what it does to oxygen consumption, the stress response and recovery. Enough that it makes sense rather than requiring faith.

For life

Ongoing support

Refreshers, group meditations, and the ability to resit the course at no cost. People from my first courses ten years ago still email. Included, not upsold.

The two formats

Same technique, same outcome. Different room.

Group course

$850

$600 concession · $300 deposit to reserve

Taught over one weekend or four weeknights. Kept deliberately small so I can watch how each person is responding rather than teaching to a room.

  • Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, two sessions each day, two to six people
  • Weeknights: Monday to Thursday, 6:30pm, capped at five
  • Check-in two weeks later, twenty minutes
  • Concession for students, healthcare workers and anyone doing it tough
  • In person at Currumbin Valley

Private course

From $1,500

One to one with Rich · $300 deposit to reserve

The same four sessions, taught to you alone, as a two-day intensive or across four days. Usually the better call if you're working through burnout, a health challenge or a trauma history.

  • Two-day intensive, or spread across four days
  • Breathing and heart readings taken up front
  • A personalised regulation plan alongside the meditation
  • Priority ongoing support
  • In person at Currumbin Valley, or fully online
Talk to Rich first

A $300 deposit holds your place and the balance is due on the first day. Payment plans on every option. Once the course is done there is no ongoing cost of any kind. The same technique taught through the TM organisation in Australia costs $1,550.

All courses run at Currumbin Valley. Weekend and weeknight courses cover the identical four sessions; the only difference is how they're spread. If none suit, a private course runs whenever you need it.

Shared with permission. Individual experiences, not medical claims. This work sits alongside professional care, not in place of it.

Being straight about it

Who this suits, and who it doesn't.

I would rather you didn't book than book the wrong thing. A course that isn't right for someone tends to end with them deciding meditation doesn't work, which is worse than never starting.

A good fit

  • You want a daily practice you'll actually keep
  • You've tried apps and stopped within a month
  • You're functioning, but never fully switch off
  • You'd rather learn once than subscribe forever

Start with the breath program instead

  • Your breathing has changed since stress or illness
  • You want measured change, not just a practice
  • Your system is too activated to sit still yet
  • You need the guarantee that comes with measurement

Honest answers

The questions people ask first.

Do I need any experience?

None. It's taught from scratch, and people who have never meditated often find it easier than people who have, because there are no habits to undo.

How is this different from an app?

An app sells a recording. This is a person choosing a mantra for you, teaching you across four sessions in a group of six at most, checking in two weeks later, and answering questions for as long as you practise. It is also paid once.

What if I can't clear my mind?

You don't have to, and you're not meant to try. Thoughts are part of the process and the technique works however busy the mind is.

Is this Transcendental Meditation?

It is the same technique, from the same tradition, taught independently. I am not affiliated with the Maharishi Foundation. The practical differences are cost, $850 here against $1,550 through the TM organisation, and that you're taught by me rather than whoever is assigned.

Can I learn online?

Yes. The full private course, initiation included, is taught over Zoom. Group courses are in person only, because the format depends on the group being in the room.

Not sure where to start?

Don't guess. Have a free 25-minute chat first.

I value your time and my own. If you're unsure which option fits, or whether now is the right moment, it's worth finding out before either of us commits. There is nothing to buy on the call. You leave with your numbers and a recommended path, and sometimes the recommendation is none of the four.
