Kerala, India · Seven Days
Seven days on the Malabar coast, where ancient Ayurveda, Vedic meditation and breath meet modern nervous-system science — to restore the first things burnout takes from you: your energy, and your connection to yourself.
You know the feeling.
Tired but wired. Running on fumes you keep topping up with caffeine and willpower.
Vitality isn't a hack or a supplement. It's what returns when you stop draining the tank — and start refilling it from the deepest layers.
This retreat is built on one idea: energy and self-connection are the foundation everything else stands on. Clearer thinking, steadier mood, deeper sleep, a body that feels like yours again — they all follow vitality, not the other way around.
So for seven days we work on the source. Ancient Ayurvedic sciences, tuned to your constitution. Vedic meditation and breath, to settle stress from where it's stored. And real one-to-one work on the patterns that quietly hold you back.
Thousands of years of wisdom, grounded in how the body actually works. No magic pills — just the right conditions, and the time to let your system do what it knows how to do.
Tailored to you
You'll be part of a small, intentional group — but your week runs on a roadmap of your own. It starts by reading exactly where you are, then moves you, step by step, to where you're ready to go.
Before, or day one
We read the full picture together — your constitution with the Ayurvedic doctor, your nervous system and breathing patterns, your goals and the practice you already hold. Some of this we can do with you before you even arrive.
Your program
From the assessment, one personalised program is drawn — the through-line for your seven days, and the markers for how far we take it.
The work
The daily practice that shifts you: advanced Kriya, rectifying your breathing patterns, Vedic meditation and rounding, Ayurvedic treatment and food — each tuned to you.
By the end
You leave having moved from where you started — steadier energy, a clearer system, more vitality, and a practice you can carry home.
Tailored the whole way through — woven into the shared sessions and deeper dives, never bolted on.
What we work with
We work at every level at once — cells, neurons, emotions, and the quiet ground of being beneath them.
Under the fatigue and the noise, there's a version of you that never left. Still. Clear. Fully alive — the one the busyness buried, the one quietly calling to come back out.
This week is about meeting that person again, and giving them the room to return. Ancient science and modern breath research, held together, pointed at one thing: more life force.
Effortless, mantra-based meditation from the Vedic lineage. The mind settles, the default mode network rests, the body repairs at depth.
Kriya breath and ancient practice — the old technologies for moving stuck energy and opening the body to more life force.
A whole body-and-mind practice that weaves yoga and asana, breath, meditation and shavasana in one flowing sequence — shedding stress layer by layer, from the deepest stored places, not just the surface.
Modern nervous-system and breath research underneath it all, so you understand what's shifting in your physiology, and why.
Doctor-led, constitution-specific treatment and food — thousands of years of medicine, prescribed to your body.
Daily classes at the resort, from gentle beginner sessions to advanced practice — opening and strengthening the body so the breath, meditation and treatments can go deeper.
The rhythm of a day
The day opens before the world gets loud — Himalayan breath and Vedic meditation to settle the system and draw in the first of the day's energy.
An Ayurvedic breakfast, built around your constitution.
Warm herbal oils, skilled traditional hands, the deep therapies of Kerala — chosen for your body. Then time that's yours: the sea, the garden, rest — or one of the resort's open offerings running between breakfast and lunch: yoga for every level, pranayama and chakra meditation. The body integrates in the spaces between.
The main Ayurvedic meal of the day, matched to your dosha.
The deeper work. Rounding weaves yoga and asana, breath, meditation and shavasana into one flowing sequence — a whole body-and-mind experience that sheds stress layer by layer and moves energy that's been stuck for years.
A lighter evening meal as the day winds down toward stillness.
Woven through the seven days, a few beautiful deeper sessions shared as a group — opening the week with intention, marking the journey, and closing it together by the sea — to deepen what's shifting.
Vitality, and a deeper connection to yourself — the foundation everything else is built on.
The specialists
Breath. Meditation. Ayurvedic medicine. Each is powerful on its own. Together — guided by people who have lived them — they become a single force, aimed squarely at what's ready to shift in you.

Vedic meditation · breath science · nervous system
Founder of The Art of Calm. Rich teaches Vedic meditation in the Maharishi lineage and works with breath, heart-rate variability and the science of nervous-system regulation — the how and the why beneath the calm. He holds an Honours degree in Psychological Science and wrote his thesis on stress and the breath, so the work draws on both worlds at once: the rigour of modern science and the wisdom of practices thousands of years old. He also uses tools like hypnosis to shift what sits below conscious reach. He isn't speaking from theory: chronic fatigue and depression took years of his life, and he found his way back the long way, through practice, patience and small steps. A recovering cynic who now helps other people come down off the wall and back into their bodies. He assesses your nervous system and your breath, then builds your meditation, regulation and breathwork around what he finds.

Himalayan breath · Kriya · energy work
Founder of The Enerchi Exchange and a genuine force of nature. Two decades in health and wellness — and a past as a national-level athlete — sit behind her work in Himalayan breathwork, Kriya, movement and Reiki. She came to this through her own hard road: anxiety, addiction, and the long climb back. That's where the gift comes from. She reads exactly where you are, holds the room with warmth and wild honesty, and helps you meet the old, deep things safely — then move them. She'll listen for where you want to go, then match you with advanced Himalayan practices to take you there.
The third pillar
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest medical systems — more than 5,000 years of understanding how a body holds its balance, and what tips it out. In India it stands as a recognised system of medicine in its own right, with its own training, diagnosis and pharmacology; it simply isn't governed the way the Western model is. It doesn't chase symptoms. It reads your whole constitution — your dosha, your tendencies, where your energy runs hot or runs dry — and works to bring the system back toward its natural state.
On the ground, that's led by the resident Ayurvedic doctors: a consultation on arrival, then daily treatments and food prescribed to you, not to a menu. Warm herbal oils, traditional therapies, meals as medicine. The slow, physical work of refilling the tank — while breath and meditation work the layers underneath.
Breath opens. Meditation settles. Ayurveda restores. Held together for seven days, they do what none of them does alone — shift what's been stuck, and let your vitality rise.
The setting
A beachfront Ayurvedic resort on the Malabar coast in southern Kerala — traditional cottages terraced into a hillside, winding paths through a tropical garden of mango, papaya and coconut, the sea always somewhere in view and the beach a few minutes from your door. The place is as much a part of the medicine as the treatments.

Your room & your food

Where you stay
Kerala cottages terraced into the hillside, most with a sea view from the room or your own terrace. En-suite and air-conditioned, with a mosquito net, a private outdoor seat for the morning, and the beach a few minutes down the path. Simple, quiet, and built for rest.

Tailored meals
At your first consultation the doctors build a personal Ayurvedic meal plan for your constitution. Every dish is cooked fresh and balanced across the six tastes, served with warm herbal water to support digestion, and eaten over a view of the sea. Nourishment as part of the treatment — not a break from it.
What's included
In your chosen room above the sea.
Doctor assessment plus 90–120 min of treatment each morning.
Three meals a day, prescribed to your constitution.
Morning practice and afternoon rounding with Rich.
Kriya breath and practice with Chelsea.
Private work to move the needle on what holds you back.
Beautiful shared sessions to open the week, mark the journey, and close it by the sea.
Kept deliberately limited. [Cap to confirm.]
Not included: international flights and airport transfers. We'll send guidance on the easiest way in (nearest airport: Trivandrum / Thiruvananthapuram). Travel insurance is your own.
Before you come · the rounding practice
Vedic rounding weaves yoga and asana, breath, meditation and shavasana into one whole body-and-mind practice — shedding layers of stress as it goes. Because meditation sits at its heart, to take part you'll need an established mantra-based practice already: Vedic, Sattva, or Transcendental Meditation. It's the foundation the rounding is built on. Whichever camp you're in, there's a way through.
i
Wonderful — you're all set. Bring your practice and round with us each day.
ii
Rich will teach you Vedic meditation personally — at a reduced rate for retreat guests — so you arrive ready to round from day one.
iii
You're very welcome without it. You'll join everything else — breathwork, treatments, meditation, the deep-dive group sessions — and simply rest while the rounding sessions run.
Sitting rounding out?
Rounding is one thread of the week — not the whole cloth. If you'd rather not learn or take part, those hours are still yours, and the place gives you plenty to tune into.
Not sure which fits you? Ask Rich — he'll talk it through.

Good to know
Can't manage the full deposit today? Talk to us.
Money shouldn't be the thing that keeps you from this. If the 50% deposit is a stretch right now, we'll happily organise something to suit — a smaller amount to hold your place, or a payment plan that works for you. Just let us know.
And either way, your balance can be spread in instalments between deposit and departure — just ask when you reserve.
Getting there & good to know
Fly into Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) International Airport, the closest airport to the resort. We collect you from the airport and bring you straight in, and take you back at the end of the week. Airport transfers are included.
Not included — you book your own into Trivandrum (TRV), usually via a Gulf or Southeast-Asian hub. Arrive 5 April, depart 12 April 2027 — we'll suggest routings and a rough budget once you've reserved.
Most travellers, including Australians, need an India e-Tourist visa, applied for online before you go. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond travel, with blank pages. We'll send a step-by-step.
Comprehensive cover is required — medical, emergency evacuation and trip cancellation. We'll ask to see it before departure. It's your safety net if plans change.
Tell us about any medical conditions, medications, injuries or pregnancy on enquiry — some breath practices and treatments have contraindications. Check vaccination and health advice with your GP or a travel clinic.
Kerala is tropical and warm. Pack light, loose clothing for practice and treatments, modest layers for the evening sessions, swimwear, a refillable bottle, a journal and any medication. A full packing list comes before you fly.
The currency is the Indian Rupee; cards work at the resort, with a little cash handy for extras. WiFi is available at reception — rooms are kept device-light on purpose, to help you drop in.
Once you've reserved, we set up a group chat for everyone coming — coordinate flights, find a travel buddy, ask questions, and arrive already knowing a few faces.
Questions
No. Complete beginners and seasoned practitioners both fit here, because your program is assessed and tailored to you — you're met where you are and taken from there.
For the Vedic rounding specifically, yes — it builds on an established mantra-based practice (Vedic, Sattva or Transcendental Meditation). If you've already learned, you're set. If not, Rich can teach you Vedic meditation before you travel, at a reduced rate for retreat guests, so you arrive ready. And if you'd rather not learn, you're still welcome — you'll join everything else and simply rest while the rounding sessions run. The beach, the pool, the gardens, your own terrace and the resort's open yoga and meditation classes (beginner to advanced, morning and afternoon) are all there to fill those hours gently.
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest medical systems — more than 5,000 years of practice, and a recognised system of medicine in India with its own training, diagnosis and remedies. It simply isn't governed the way Western medicine is in the West. Here it's doctor-led, and treated as the serious medicine it is.
We'd ask you to hold it alongside your Western medical and mental-health care, not in place of it — the two sit together well, and your own doctor stays in the picture. The breath, meditation and nervous-system work supports your vitality; none of it is a promise to cure a diagnosed condition.
The work is gentle and scalable to you. The resort is terraced into a hillside with steps and garden paths, so if you have any mobility needs, tell us on enquiry and we'll guide you to the right room and rhythm.
Most people do. Choose a shared room to pair up with another guest, or a private room for your own space. The group chat means you'll have met a few people before you even land.
All three are Somatheeram's traditional Kerala cottages, en-suite and air-conditioned. The shared and private options are Standard Cottages in the upper part of the resort, closest to the clinic and restaurant — shared means twin-share with another guest, private means the cottage is yours. The Special Cottage is the resort's most popular room: round, palm-thatched, detached, with sea views and your own terrace virtually on the water.
Possibly — tell us everything on enquiry. Some breathwork and Ayurvedic treatments have contraindications, and your safety always comes first. We'd rather adapt your program than have you hold back.
All meals are Ayurvedic, largely plant-based, cooked fresh and tailored to your constitution. Let us know any allergies or dietary requirements in advance and the kitchen will work with them.
Seven nights' accommodation, all Ayurvedic meals, your doctor's consultation and daily treatments, all daily sessions and deep-dive group sessions with Rich and Chelsea, your one-to-one deep dives, and airport transfers. Not included: flights, visa and travel insurance.
It's a retreat. We encourage a light-touch relationship with your phone while you're there, and the days are built around rest, practice and the sea — not a bar.
A 50% deposit of your room price holds your place — $1,900 shared, $2,250 private, $2,700 Special Cottage — paid securely via Stripe. If the full deposit isn't doable today, just tell us — we'll happily organise something to suit. From there we book in your assessments with Rich and Chelsea, add you to the travel group chat, and send everything you need in the lead-up — visa steps, packing list and travel guidance.
Your deposit is fully refundable up until four months before departure. Closer in, standard cancellation terms apply and the balance becomes payable — which is exactly what your travel insurance is there to cover. Full terms come with your booking confirmation.
5–12 April 2027 — seven nights in Kerala, arriving and departing together as a group.
This is deep, restorative work — not a cure. Everything here supports your nervous system and your vitality; it sits alongside your medical and mental-health care, never instead of it.
Some breath practices aren't right for every body, and we'll always work to what suits yours. If you're managing a heart, respiratory or pregnancy-related condition, or a trauma history, tell us on enquiry so we can look after you well.
