For teams, leaders and offsites

Not a motivational talk. Training in how a body performs under pressure.

I'm not a speaker who leaves people fired up for an afternoon. I'm a practitioner who shows a room what stress is doing to their physiology, measures it in front of them, and teaches them how to change it. People walk out with a technique they've already done once, and numbers that explain why it works.

Why this is different

Your people don't need another resilience talk.

Most workplace wellbeing sessions ask people to think differently about stress. That's a skill, and it changes nothing in the body. I work on the body directly, and I measure it, so nobody has to take it on faith.

Measured, in the room

Heart rate variability, breathing rate, CO₂ tolerance. Real numbers from real people in the session, so the science is something the room sees, not something it's told.

Physiological, not motivational

Stress is a nervous system state, not an attitude. I teach how the system rises to a demand and, more importantly, how it comes back down, which is the part high performers lose first.

Usable that afternoon

Everyone leaves with a two-to-five-minute practice they've already done once under my eye. Not a slide deck of tips. Something they can use before the next hard meeting.

What a session covers

Performance and recovery are the same system. I teach both ends of it.

The exact mix depends on the group and the time available. Every session is built around these four pieces, in plain language, with the evidence behind each one.

  • Where stress actually lives. The four states a nervous system moves through, why a resilient system uses all of them, and what it looks like when someone gets stuck in one. Most rooms recognise themselves immediately.
  • Breathing as the lever. The fastest way to change the state of a nervous system is the breath. Slow, low, through the nose, and comfortable with CO₂. What that means, why it works, and what most people are doing without knowing it.
  • Recovery as a skill. Why rest that doesn't restore is a physiological problem, what HRV and sleep data actually tell you, and how to train the capacity to come back down the way you'd train strength.
  • A practice, done together. A guided breathing sequence the whole room does, followed by a short debrief. This is the part people write to me about afterwards.

Formats

From one hour to an ongoing program.

Every format includes the measured demonstration and a practice the room does together. The difference is depth, and how much follow-through your people get.

60 to 90 minutes

Talk and practice

For all-hands, conferences and lunch-and-learns. The science, the demonstration, and one practice everyone leaves with.

Half day

Workshop

For leadership teams and smaller groups. Individual breathing and HRV readings, the full framework, two or three practices matched to the people in the room.

One or two sessions

Offsite and retreat

Built into your existing agenda. A change of pace that people remember, and that sends them back into the strategy session with a settled system.

Six to twelve weeks

Team program

Baseline the team, train them, re-measure at the end. For organisations that want to show a result, not just run a session. Leadership one-to-ones available alongside.

From $1,750

Single session, Gold Coast and Brisbane. Half-day, offsite and program pricing quoted on scope.

The price depends on the format, the group size and how much preparation the session needs. Tell me what you're planning and who's in the room and I'll come back with a clear number, in writing, before anything is booked. Travel beyond South East Queensland is quoted separately. Online delivery is available for distributed teams.

Who's in front of your team

Someone who ran himself into burnout, then went and studied why.

I managed a dealership in my twenties and ran my own business in my thirties, and I know what it costs to perform on an empty tank because I did it for years. Meditation was the first thing that undeniably worked, and I've taught it for a decade.

Then I went back to university for an Honours degree in Psychological Science, with a thesis on stress, breath and wellbeing, and trained in breath science and nervous system recovery. I work one on one with guests at Eden Health Retreat and have taken more than 800 people through this work. I bring the same material into a boardroom that I use with a burnt-out executive on a Tuesday afternoon.

Honest answers

What organisers ask before they book.

Is this a motivational talk?

No. There's nothing wrong with those, but this isn't one. It's a practical session on how the nervous system performs and recovers, with measurements taken in the room and a practice everyone does. People leave with a skill, not a feeling.

Do people have to do breathing exercises in front of colleagues?

Everyone does a guided practice together, seated, eyes closed if they like. It's quiet and unremarkable from the outside, and nobody is singled out. The more intense breath sequences are for smaller groups who've opted in, and I'll talk that through with you when we plan the session.

How many people can you work with?

A talk works for a room of any size. A workshop is best under about twenty so I can take individual readings. Offsite sessions sit anywhere in between. Tell me the group and I'll recommend the format.

Can you deliver online?

Yes. The talk and the team program both translate well to video, and I run distributed sessions regularly. Individual readings are harder online, so I adapt the demonstration.

What do you need from us?

A room where people can sit comfortably, a screen, and about thirty minutes beforehand to set up the measurement equipment. For programs, a point of contact and agreement on how we'll measure the result.

What happens after the session?

Everyone gets a short follow-up resource with the practice and the key points, so it doesn't evaporate by Friday. For programs, the re-measurement at the end is the follow-up.

Planning something?

Tell me about the room, and I'll tell you what would actually help.

A short conversation about your team, your dates and what you want people to leave with. I'll come back with a format and a price in writing. If I'm not the right fit for what you're planning, I'll say so.
